Type data   Holotype (H 3.0 mm, L 3.0 mm) Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle (MNHN 21385). Type locality: Austral Islands, Rapa Island, Baie de Haurei, 27*36.8'S, 144*18.3'W, 45 m, dead, muddy bottom, 26.xi.2002 (Atelier RAPA stn 43).
Description

  Shell up to ca. 4 mm high, fragile, circular, inequivalve and equilateral,left valve slightly more inflated than right valve (nearly flat), auricles nearly equal in size.

  Left valve sculptured with closely spaced commarginal lamellae in early growth stage, followed by a reticulate sculpture, forming weakly nodules on the intersections. Right valve with closely spaced commarginal lirae. Internal rudimentary riblets near margin in adult stage. Byssal notch deep, byssal fasciole relatively broad.
