| Description | Shell small up to ca. 7 mm high, fragile, semi-transparent, strongly inflated, subcircular, equivalve, almost equilateral, left valve more convex than right valve, auricles dissimilar in shape, anterior auricle considerable larger than posterior one, umbonal angle ca. 100 degrees, translucent white,typically with a few scattere, irregular opaque and yellowish brown maculations. Valves and auricles sculptured with crisp commarginal lamellae (lv)and ridges (rv). Byssal notch shallow, byssal fasciole narrow. Internal riblets 9-10, plus a few rudimentary. |
