| Description | Shell up to ca. 43 mm high, weakly inflated,thin, nearly circular, slightly posteriorly oblique, somewhat higher than wide, nearly equivalve, subequilateral, auricles unequal in size, umbonal angle ca. 90 degrees, basic colour cream-brownish, with small dark and pale brown radials and maculations in young growth stage. Both valves sculptured with numerous (ca. 30 on central part, ca. 50 ventrally), irregularly spaced primary and secondary squamous radial riblets. Anterior auricle of left valve with 8-10 radial riblets, posterior with 5, interspaces smooth or weakly reticulated. Byssal notch moderately deep, byssal fasciole broad. Functional ctenolium on suture (ca. 6 teeth). |
