| Description | Shell up to ca. 25 mm high, fragile, semi-transparent, weakly inflated, left valve slightly more convex than right valve, subcircular, inequivalve, nearly equilateral, auricles unequal in size and shape, colour of left valve creamy or orange-tinted, right valve whitish. Left valve with many irregularly spaced radial lirae, squamous near ventral margin. Reticulate microsculpture in early growth stage. Auricles with delicate squamous radial riblets (7-10), weaker on right valve. Right valve with commarginal sculpture. Internal ribs 10 with 2 auricular riblets and some interstitial rudimentary riblets near the margin. Byssal notch and ctenolium lacking. |
