| Description | Shell small up to 3 mm high, fragile, outline irregular, variable and changing during ontogeny, about as wide as high, inequilaterial, oblique posteriorly, posterior auricle larger than anterior, translucent white. Left valve sculptured with widely, irregularly spaced commarginal lamellae, traversed by slightly finer radial riblets, multiplying by intercalation. Right valve with outer layer of commarginally elongate, hexagonal prisms. Byssal notch of moderate depth, byssal fsciole rather broad. Internal riblets lacking. |
