Type data   Holotype (pr: H 6.8 mm, L 6.6 mm, D 1.0 mm) Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle (MNHN) at Paris. Type locality: New Caledonia, coral reef lagoon off Koumac, between mainland and Infernet reef, 20*34.4'S, 164*13.0'E, 12-14 m, alive, bottom of flat slabs with gorgonians and ooze, Oct. 1993 (MONTROUZIER stn 1299).
Description

  Shell up to ca. 10 mm high, fragile, transparent, weakly inflated, circular, equivalve and equilateral, auricles nearly equal in size, umbonal angle ca. 90-100 degrees, brightly translucent coloured.

  Both valves smooth and glossy. Anterior and posterior auricles gradually transitionally developed into disc without demarcating disk flanks. Byssal notch weakly indented, bssal fasciole rather broad. Functional ctenolium with ca. 10 teeth.

Philippines, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia (TL), NE Australia, Fiji and Kiribati

Habitat  Living in shallow water amongst algae on soft bottom assemblages.
