| Description | Shell small up to ca. 11 mm high, fragile, semi-transparent, weakly inflated, nearly circular, left valve slightly more convex than right valve, inequivalve and inequilateral, auricles strongly unequal in size, umbonal angle ca. 125 degrees, left valve creamy with whitish and orange-brownish spots, right valve whitish. Left valve sculptured with numerous, irregularly and closely spaced, scaly radial riblets, increasing in number towards the ventral margin. Auricles with fine a few radial riblets and delicate commarginal lamellae. Right valve with regularly spaced, fine commarginal lirae. Byssal notch relatively shallow, byssal fasciole narrow. Internal riblets 10 (irregularly spaced), extending to the submarginal region. Marginal apron (below the interior riblets) of right valve often broken off. |
