| Description | Shell small up to ca. 6 mm high, fragile, semi-transparent white, weakly inflated, nearly circular, left valve slightly more convex than right valve, inequivalve, somewhat inequilateral, auricles unequal in size, umbonal angle ca. 95 degrees. Left valve sculptured with widely spaced, commarginal lirae with strongly developed nodules or hollow scales. Auricles with commarginal lamellae. Right valve with regularly narrow spaced, delicate commarginal lirae. Byssal notch relatively deep, byssal fasciole narrow. Internal riblets rudimentary (5 anteriorly and 4 posteriorly). Right valve with large white spot at centre of disc. Marginal apron (below the interior riblets) of right valve often broken off. |
